  1. in london it would cost u a £160 a day for a plasterer, for the size u want £50 would be fair.cut the cost by taking off the old plaster before u get a quote.buy the plaster urself.it all cuts the cost..hope it helps

  2. Ten pounds.

  3. ring around and get three estimates

  4. Prob about £15 - £25!

  5. they charge £12-15 a meter,ive just had a few quotes

  6. usually £12.00  per metre but seeing its only a small job you have to consider is £24.00 enough for a tradesman to travel, unpack tools, go to get materials, do the job, clean up, and  travel back to the job he left. More realistic £60.00

  7. I note the answers already provided but I think you should look at it practically i.e. do you think a tradesman wants to provide the materials, travel to the job, prepare and plaster, clear up and travel home for £25 to £40? - I don't think so!!

I would guess he would want at least a days wages so you must be looking at £100 to £150.

But do like others say phone round and ask a few - but be prepared for some high quotes, the building industry is busy at present and the builders are not really interested in 'nuisance-size' jobs - but I wish you luck.

  8. setting up and cleaning up is time consuming.

2m x 1m ? i could put 2 skim coats on that in half hour, 45 mins crossed and done for about £60 , but you must understand a spread would need to have 3 or 4 similar jobs on that same day otherwise not worth turning down bigger jobs for. more so if you have a labourer to pay.

  9. Ah plasterers, the pampered Rock Gods of the building industry. If you manage to get one to come out and do it at all (since as has been mentioned, they are greedy oiks and don't like small jobs), you may expect to pay £150 for the privilege I assure you.

Perhaps there's some other plastering work you might also require, so you can make the prospect more appealing to one of these choosy nerks?

All best, hope you find one.

  10. No matter what size of wall you want done, it still takes 1½ to 2 hours for the plaster to set to polish up. Most plasterers charge £150 a day and would prob want half that plus the cost of board or multi finish.

Different kettle of fish if it's bare brick or block.

  11. I think it's more to do with the time than the size.

Charges are probably a bit less in the North than 'down South' but say he wants to earn £100 a day. That's £12.50 an hour but obviously he's got preping to do and he's got to get to you.

    Basically, £25/30 tops!

    LOL

  12. a 2metre wall by 1 metre wall takes as long to do as a 4 metre by 3 metre ... its not the size ..its the time the plaster takes to go off ..you will be fortunate to get a proper tradesman to do it for less than £60 ..and before anybody goes on about greedy tradesmen let me tell you that plastering is one of the most physical jobs in the building trade ...and by the time hes earned his £60 pounds a footballer will have earned £2000 plus ..worlds gone mad!

  13. twenty pound or more
