How much should a security deposit be for a cat?

  1. They can charge as much as they want.    They can say "no cats" if they desire.

    I would charge at least 500.


  2. I would say a refundable pet deposit of between $150 and $250 seems fair.  I have parrots that are in their cages unless supervised.  We put area rugs down over the carpet in the room they are in so none of their poo gets on the carpet and we still had to pay a $400 pet deposit on them.

  3. It's however much your landlord says it is.  It is always different and up to their discretion as to whether they even allow a cat.

  5. I would charge A LOT because cats destroy so much c**p.
