I have a one week old colt (no not selling yet) But we've gotten offers from the day he was born. His moms a sorrel mare around 15.3 hand and dads around 16.3! He is already a very big guy and adores people. Already picks up all four feet on command and comes when called. Doing great with the halter and doesn't mind the lead at all. loves baths and being brushed. He's a beautiful paint with awesome markings! Any idea's on how much he may sell for?

  1. Depends what kind of training you do with him and how long you wait to sell him and what his breeding is. Lots of variables go into it. Could go anywhere from $500 to $10000 or more

  2. I was just looking around my area I'm looking for a project and the babies even papered are going for 500 to 700 dollars, its sad they are worth a lot more.

  3. Well that depends on when you selling him. If you are, and i hope you are, waiting till he is whined from his mother then i would say about 100, 150.

But if you wait till he is a two year old yearling. Then about 150. Sorry but without him being breed from horses that have amazing blood lines, then he wont be worth much. But that also depends on his training. If you wait till he is about three or four to sell him, and you have taught him well, then you could sell him for about 750.

I really wish you would keep the foal, or have had a home for him already. but he sounds like a big love bug, and i WANT HIM! lol. I would so buy him from you. Oh and if you are gelding him or not also has an effact on the price. It will go down if he is gelded.

If you get the chance email me photos of him. I love paints. I have an appaloosa that im going to breed in about two years.

  4. All depends on the demand, blood lines and when you sell. If he's pure bred, with average blood lines and you sell him just after weaning, you could probably expect $600 - $900. If you sell him as a yearling  probably about $800 - $1000 (depending on demand, maybe a little more). If he's got really good bloodlines... much more.

  5. Well, what is he, and what is his breeding, and what are his parents' accomplishments, and is he registered?

  6. Does he have a pedigree? You can make some good money off a colt if he has a good pedigree and a good personality.

  7. depends on bloodlines, estimated height, temperament, and the parents' successfulness- ie money earnings, titles, ect.
