Folks,

How much should a person who is providing daycare from their home charge, in the area if you drop your newborn off at a place, it can be up to from $300 to $350 a week per child around here. That being the case how much should at home cost, I know it should be cheaper, but how much?

  1. Well my daughter started off in a daycare facility and i was paying $110 a week. then when i moved her to an at home daycare i only paid $65 a week. 300 to me is a bit OUTRAGEOUS!!! The daycare that my baby started off at was a very nice place and it was a fair price, but i'm in Orlando florida so it might be different based on where you live.

  2. A home daycare typically charges two-thirds the cost of a daycare center.  That would mean $200-$216.  It does depend on what the home daycare is going to offer compared to the daycare center.  Is the home daycare provider less qualified, as qualified, or more qualified than the teachers at the daycare center?

  3. A lady down the street from me charges $150 for each kid, unless there are siblings that go there-then she charges $100 per sibling.

  4. It should cost half of what the daycares cost. They do not provide all that the daycares proved, it should be about 150 a week

  5. My goodness, they better be the best daycare people around!.  The average for a newborn should be from $90 to $140.  Once they get older it should go down drastically.  If you are going to a private sitter please make sure that she can spend a lot of attention for your child.  That's a pretty scary thing for mommies.

  6. It's about 250 a week per child here...

  7. i do that i babysit at home i charge 169.99 a week im cheap or 17.95 an hour if they there for some hours

  8. Well I currently pay $125 per week for my 10 month old son. Of course just like everyone else says, it does depend on your area where you live. What you should do is call around to local daycare places and do price comparisons. Then lower your prices a bit. So if the daycare places charge $300/wk /child I would only charge $270/wk /child.

  9. WOW! based on what you asked and what others answered, You guys pay a whole lot..well where I'm from my sons daycare is only $60.00 per week..and its NOT a home day care! I think i better thank God lol...$100-$350 is pretty steep!
