  1. yh that sounds about rite, wen he starts emptyin the bottle at each feed then put extra ounce in for him an so on.. don worry he will soon let you no if he not havin enough x

  2. As much as he wants.  Seriously.  As long as your baby is gaining weight and developing normally, you don't have to worry about how much they are eating.  Sometimes they won't eat much and sometimes they go through growth spurts and seem to eat 24/7.  Let your baby's appetite by your guide.

Breastfeeding mothers can't measure how much the baby is eating and go by how healthy the baby is.  There is no reason why bottle feeding moms can't do the same.

  3. Take his weight and multiply it by 2.5 ounces this is how much he should eat in a 24 hour period.

  4. i agree with the answer "babies eat what they  need"  they will stop when full. my baby is 8 months old and still only eats an ounce or two and is healthy and growing fine.  all babies eat the right amount for their bodies.

  5. Some babies eat more than others and it makes no sense trying to feed him a certain quantity, his needs are different from other babies needs. I feed him what I am used to feeding him. If he starts crying afterwards, I'll try another ounce. If he takes it and keeps it fine, I know we have crossed another threshold.

  6. Babies eat 2 1/2 ounces of milk for every pound they weigh. So if you have a 8 lb baby he should be eating 20 ozs a day. Divide that by 8 feedings is 2 1/2 ozs per feeding.

  7. sounds about right
