  1. i'd recomend to start running a half mile to a mile every day for 5-6 times a week

then every week increase your weekly distance by 10%..this is what our XC team does to build a good base but it should do the trick

  2. If you run, you won't weight.  Losing weight has to deal with the lifestyle you have.  Like eating good foods(yogert, bannanas, and even sandwiches)

Running makes you feel really good, especially early in the morning.  I heard somewhere that is the time when you lose the most fat because you don't have any food in your stomach to burn.  But running 1-3 miles in the first couple weeks would be a good goal(9-25 mins)  just try not walking, that slows your heart rate and makes your whole workout not worth it.  After a couple weeks, get up to a daily 4-5 miles and even a long 6-7 mile day every sunday or something like that.

Good luck, you need good supporting shoes.  And some short running shorts and tees.

  3. My cross country team runs 8-12 miles a day, but at the beginning of the season we start with 3 miles a day and add .5 - 1 mile a week depending on how good the team is doing.

    Good Luck.

Also join cross country, its a blast!

  4. dont run to count how much fat or calories you burn. my advise is to pick a real style of running and stick with it. dont try to do too much in the begging start slow for the first 2 months. after you can build on it. You should just jog for ur first tw months actually and then start doing sprints, or start doing a quicker long distance pace, depending on ur style.
