Question:

How much should i expect to pay for installation of one pick up on my guitar?

i am ordering the pick up, i just want to know what they will charge at a shop to solder it in.

  1. hmmm if that pickup is not suited for the guitar, as in putting a humbucker into a single coil then it will be 100-300 because to will have to cut out parts of the guitar, replace electronics and reroute wires, however if you just replacing a single coil for a single coil or a humbuck for a humbuck then it will be from 60-150 (they charge the same for one or 2 pickups, the payment is more based just on installing it) depending on the store and the pickup and the guitar (as in if the pickup is active it will be more because they also have to setup the battery placement and with the gutiar if it is really old then ull probably have to insure it and stuff), i DONT believe however installations are just 15-20, i had payed 40 bucks jsut to re solder broken wires

    note: a way to lower the cost is to remove the old pickup urself and give them the guitar ready, also finding a "mom and pop" shop will be better cuz u can negotiate and the charge less
