  1. Flakes are fine--as long as you're treating him right otherwise, he doesn't need fancy, expensive betta food. If you just got the fish, it will tend not to eat much for a couple days; it's getting used to its tank and where the food goes. The rule of thumb is how much all your fish can eat in 5 minutes. If the betta is your only fish, give it less than that once it gets settled, because they tend to be voracious little devils. Good luck!

  2. Ok, only feed your betta 3 flakes or pellets a day or every other day. Why so little? Because you can make yor fish constipated or bloated from feeding it to much...and he could die and nobody wants that! And depending on whatkind of tank have it in, it will make the tank dirtier faster. The best food you should think about getting is freeze dried blood worms. Only feed your fish 3 of those per day.

  3. Try a different brand, pellets. You can feed him 2-3 Betta pellets, twice per day, so 5-6 pellets per day. You should also be giving him some meaty foods like frozen brine shrimp and blood worms, maybe 2-3 times per week. Basically, feed what he'll eat in about one minutes, twice per day.

    Hope this helped=)
