How much should i pay for a 2000 ford focus sedan?

im 17 and looking for a focus. its my dream car and i want to know how much i should spend to buy a used 2000 ford focus? i live in michigan and i would like to save up for it by january. i average about $400 per month give or take $60. any help?

You need to ask yourself a few more questions.

How much money do you already have saved?

How many miles are on the car in question?

Are you buying the car from a dealer or privately?

Last year I was looking to trade in my 99 cougar for an 04 focus. The focus had 50k/mi. & they were looking to sell the car for 9k (at a dealer)

If you haven't found the car yet search the web for car dealers, carmax maybe your best bet because they usually include Tax & tags in the price already.

Depending on the condition of the car, and the area you live in, the blue-book value would be about $3,400 for a car in good condition.  I'd flip through the classifieds to see for yourself.
