    Aluminum canoes can last forever, as long as the rivets don't have stress cracks and the gunwales are in good shape.  Check to make sure the seats are functional too.  You can deduct a little from your opening offer if there are any visible structural issues.  It's a heavy boat - so keep in mind that transporting it might be a chore, but it should serve you well!
