  1. A) enough money for a 20% down payment

    B) 6 months salary in the bank as a contingency fund

Don't forget to pay off any existing debt first.

    Good luck.

  2. Depending on what you want to be paying in payments every month. I would put down a least 20% of the purchase price . Just find a home that you like and look at the purchase price then figure out what 20% is and at least that is what you will need.

  3. 20 %  of the purchase price for the down and closing costs plus about $2000.00 for new home stuff. something always breaks right after you buy a house.

  4. In this day and age, a lot! Where do you want to live, what type of house, these are the questions you need to be thinking about.

  5. If this will be your first house probably just a few thousand.  If you can get an FHA loan.  Usually there is no money down with this loan.  If it isn't you first home about 20% of the price of the home.  I'm sure you can do the math, but I will help.  If you want a $100 K house you should but $20 K down. If you have more questions you should be able to call a local real estate agent and they can answer your questions free of charge.
