  1. Depends on how much work you're willing to put in.

If you don't want to do much work, you can sell it as a single lot for about $5.00-$10.00 per pound on eBay.  Pretty easy.

If you'd like to do a little work, assemble the sets you own (as best you can), and sell them individually as sets.  How much you get depends on how old the sets are, how complete they are, etc, but it would probably result in about twice as much money.  Maybe more, maybe less-- depends on how well you've cared for your Lego.

The best profit is to sell them individually by piece, but this can take a LONG time, and takes lots of effort.  Best place is to sell them on BrickLink (maybe eBay).  And that'd get you I'd guess around 4 to 10 times as much as selling them by the pound, but would take a long time to sell.  And would mean you'd have to become something of a Lego expert in the meanwhile.

If you sell them online, you'll get MUCH more of a fair value if you include LOTS OF INFORMATION.  List what sets you had, show many pictures, and if you're in a smoke-free and/or pet-free house, put that in the listing as well.  If you're vague, people will stick with the $5.00 per pound price, and if you provide more information, you'll get a fairer price.
