92' ford crown victoria , its odometer is broken and is stuck at 181,000. the windows will not roll up or down , the engine light is on , and it is a restored salvage title. The rear of the car is damaged (bumper is bent). The paint is faded (greyishcolor) , it runs good though and the interior is good. , I know it’s a piece of c**p and has a lot of problems , my question is , how much should I post an ad on craigslist for so I can sell it? Or do u think I should just trade it in at the dealer? Thank you!

  1. Less than $400

Mileage really doesn't mean much on a car like this.  Sorry to say that this is pretty much a junker.

A dealer won't want to take a car like this in trade.  What would they do with it?  They couldn't sell it and make anything from it.  Anything they offer you, if they even take it, they will make up on the other end on the price of the car they sell you.  So you still lose.

The price of steel is high right now.  You may be better off bringing it to a salvage yard and sell it by the pound.

  2. I'd definently say go under $500.  I've been looking to buy cars like this recently and when people type in something on craiglist and they are looking for a cheap car they usauly set the max price to $500.  So I'd say 500 max probly around 450, if it truly is a peice of c**p.  Be sure to post if can or can't drive away, that is a common think people forget to say in the description. Lastly describe the car in depth on the description and post a picture, this helps alot too.  I'm just adding these tips if you want to get top dollar.
