  1. We've sold half a dozen computers at garage sales and we've generally gotten between $30 and $100 for them. Prices will vary some depending on where you are. Have the machine set up and running, if you can.

Btw, be sure to copy and delete any personal data from the disk drive first. We've seen used computers sold with tax returns, medical records, and credit-card info on them.

  2. You didn't say the processor speed or the hard drive capacity, or mention the software, but judging by what I have seen at other yard sales, $200.00.

My wife took her 8 year old computer to an auction.  900 M processor, 900 meg hard drive, windows ME, CD burner, DVD player, good monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers, plus software.  It went for $50 high bid.

The only thing that depreciates more than a computer is an expired fishing license  :).

  3. If its about 10 years old, even with everything working in good condition, it probably wouldn't sell for more than $200 tops, with everything.  Let's put it this way as soon as you bought it, it was outdated.
