  1. 20%

  2. Tip 20% of what the actual bill would have cost

They do the Dining Out for Life and different series like that where I live as well. Alot of times the 'select menu' will state what the meal 'would' have cost and states that your tip should be based upon that amount.

  3. as a former restaurant worker,it is customary to tip 20% on the total bill

  4. 20% is what you should tip. I think it's ok to base the tip on what the actual total is; it seems silly to try and guess how much the food would have cost at full price. Plus if you're going there because it's cheap, you can't afford to tip that much.

  5. 20% i'm 14 and i knew that

  6. 5$ or $6

  7. Well as everyone is stating...and i agree as well on the 20%.  However the question of on $35.00 or the regular price is totally up to you.  You stated that you are unable to see the regular price due to it being a special menu.  You could always ask what the house price would be.  If you dont want to go that far, just think that these people are providing a service and rely on your tips most of the time.  Good service = good tip.  20% is fair, I would base it on the service. more or less.  Also a question are tips going to the charity?

  8. 20% of the whole price

  9. To me it just depends on how the service is

  10. I've worked for a fine dining place that also participated in restaurant week... once.

I recommend tipping more than the standard 20%. The servers are actually losing money because of that deal. Their regulars are being pushed out by the folks who partake in this horrid event. They would normally get tipped on a higher amount. Restaurant week participants tip much less and sit longer, resulting in taking home less money but having to tip out and made to run around more.

You're actually getting less than your money's worth when you do this special. Restaurants cut down on the portion sizes to accomodate the huge loss their gonna take. Sadly, only about 15% of Restaurant week participants come back during a "non-restaurant week" time and get the good stuff.

  11. I would say tip 20% on what the meal originally cost. It is probably an especially busy time for the servers, and under normal circumstances they would be getting tipped more.

  12. Always try to tip 20% of the total original bill. Never tip base on the discounted total. Tip on the pre-discount.

  13. I always tip 20% on the total bill, including alcohol and tax.  As a former waitress at a resturant that participates in Restaurant Week, this is what I would expect.

  14. 20% should do it

    korkie

  15. no less than 20% of the TOTAL bill.

  16. ranges from 15%-25% deending on the service which includes

1- food and beverage knowledge of the server

2- confidence in making or helping make foor and wine selections

3- thoughtfulness of the server ( waters filled? extras done without asking? needs anticiplated?)

    4- friendliness of server

5- speed of service between me asking and recieving

all depends on the server because even if the food is garbage , i tip on service

  17. get a little card that tells u the tip for ur meal dumbass
