We're closing on a 40 acre recreational land plot in the upper peninsula of michigan. We wanted to have a surveyor come in and mark out the four corners of our plot (it's a square 40). We've put in several phone calls to surveyors in the area, and have left messages with them, but have not heard back yet.

I'd like to get an idea what to expect in terms of cost. We've never worked with a surveyor before, and we want to make sure we're getting a fair price.

If you've had a land surveyor do some work for you in the past, i'd really like to know how many acres they surveyed for you, what they charged, and how long ago the survey was done.

If there are any surveyors in this forum who are in the area, and want to quote a price for Marquette County, MI we'd be happy to have that information as well.

  1. it's probably a full day job total including paperwork - so you have to figure a minimum of $1-2000

  2. I'm in IL.. I had it done a few years ago.. it was $3-400.. don't remember exactly.  Several thousand sounds INSANE.

  3. $350 boundary survey

    $1,500 full survey

  4. While different parts of the U.S. charge different rates, here in Kansas, something like that would cost you around $300.
