Question:

How much should my bird be eating?

i have a conure and he eats a LOT it seems. will they eat as much as you put in their dish? how much is too much and how much is not enough? i am also trying to train him but he wont take the fresh food im trying to give, and i think it has something to do with how much he is eating in his cage. please help.

  1. Conures Should not have seeds execpt as a treat...

    Get him on a healthy pellet diet with fresh vegs and fruits....

    Start out in the morning with fressh vegs and fruits. It could take weeks or even month before she starts eating them. Try this, After dinner fix a plate of vegs and sit down and eat them with her, offering them to her after you eat one. That is how they learn what to eat in the wild. They watch what the others are eating..

    You should keep a dish of pettels in front of her 24/7. Mix Seeds and pettels together and place the dish in the cage every afternoon. Then remove it before bed time. Cut back on the seeds in the mix a little bite each day.

    Try this is always works for me.
