  1. Judging from your writing style you would fit into the "young persons" working holiday visa criteria; which is basically that you need to be aged 18-30.

This visa grants the right to work and thus finance yourself, though not for more than 3 months for any one employer and is valid for 12 months- sounds just what you need.

It is a very popular method indeed of having a long holiday in Australia.

  2. My boyfriend (now husband) travelled round Oz in '03-'04. My advice is to work your way around. Travel until your funds get low and then do something you have never done before. I know they are always looking for people to help on cattle stations and also fruit picking and pubs. Darwin is a great place to have a long stopover. Don't miss The Kimberleys and Broome. See as much as you can and work in as many different places as possible. You will find that people in remote places will give you a job regardless of experience, so use this to have a bit of fun and try new things!!!

As for good tourist spots? The Kimberleys, Darwin and Broome as I mentioned before, but also Cape York, Cairns, Alice Springs, Uluru, Edith Creek Falls, Townsville, Bungle Bungles, Canungra, Evans Head. I could list 1000. The best advice I could give is when you come into a new town, go to the information centre.

    Have fun!!! We did!

  3. Any good tourist spots in Australia? You're kidding? There are literally hundreds of great tourist spots all around Australia. We have fantastic cities, towns, beaches, spectacular coastlines, deserts, mountains, rainforests, waterfalls, historical places, caves, lakes, rivers, tourist drives, train journeys, parks, gardens, not to mention great restaurants, nightlife, shopping etc etc...as well has an excellent range of accommodation from budget to 5 star, which includes caravan parks, motels, B & Bs and hotels.

I suggest you actually do a little research first. Buy a good book or two (Lonely Planet etc). They will help you decide on what sort of places you would like to see, as well as give you an idea of how much it will cost.

good luck & I'm sure you will have a very enjoyable time here.
