How much should my duckling eat?

Like how much should he eat when he eats a lot a little in between.... Like the size of my pinky or my large toe, or what?

He needs to be able to fill his crop.  He should know how much to eat.  He wouldn't eat if he isn't hungry.  How old is your duckling??  That is important information.
