A friend has asked my wife about taking care of her 2 kids from 8am to 3:30pm for 3 days out of the week. The kids are 1 and 2. Local daycares charge $150 a week per child. Both parents work. My wife will provide snacks and meals for the kids. She doesnt have a daycare license yet but is working on getting it, should take a few months though.

thanks

Thanks.

  1. $300 for both children at least a week. Just because the children would be in a safer environment at your house than in a daycare.

  2. She should charge the same as a licensed daycare...so, $30 a day. Some daycare centers offer a discount for a second child. Look into that. Basically, they are getting the benefit of their children being cared for by a friend or someone they know and have a relationship with. She should charge exactly what the licensed places charge.

Just another thing...if your wife plans to increase the amount of children she cares for once she gets her license, she should be up front about that with the parents.

A license is a good idea for insurance reasons. If your wife treats this a business it will be better for everyone involved.

  3. Well, since this seems like a well known friend, then for her watching them for 3 days,  I'd say 60 dollars plus the expense for meals, 40. That's gives you 100 dollars a week. And, it's only for 3 days, so that's a reasonable price, and if they are not willing to have a set price, then let them pay 150 dollars a week.

  4. Well if you charge 6 dollers per hour for one kid you should at least add $2.50. or you could ask how good they were  and if they were bad you could add like a dollar or two.

  5. Um...like $3o for the first day?

  6. I would say 120-150

higher than that and it is just ridiculous.

First of all your wife is not licensed, second of all you dont have to pay other staff members.

Also daycares provide structured activities each day and they buy supplies and toys for the children such as play-doh, finger paints etc.

If you are not supplying these you cannot charge for them.

    Be reasonable.

  7. usually

    they cahrge 10$ an hour

    for a kid

but i think for a baby its

12-15$ an hour so yeah .

  8. id say like 250 for both

  9. The licensing place can give her a list of daycare providers. She can call them to see what they would charge in your area.

  10. i would call other daycares around you and base your rates on them...maybe a little lower. its up to you. we are from a small town and our daycare charges...$105 a week for 12 months and under...2-18 months $100 and if potty trained then $90 a week...drop in rate is $25 a day. and thats just per kid.

  11. Tell her to charge 250 dollars per session. Sure it's expensive, but think about it. She is providing meals, snacks, and taking care of two children.

  12. minimum wage.

  14. Licensed daycares charge $150.00  but that is usually for a 5 days a week 6:00am to 5:30pm day. 3 days and 7 hours a day for 2 kids ...I would be willing to pay someone between $90-$100.00 a week.

  15. 100

    PER WEEK

  16. 120 A Week is reasonable.

They are being fed looked after.

    Price for a good service.

  17. well, i have babysat one child for about 5, then 3 kids for about 5 then one kid for 2...i would do about 6 bucks, cause todllers and babys are harder to take care of...om...if not have a flat fee, maybe 20 bucks for three hours...i would love those two amounts!

  18. 10 dollars an hour, and keep a tab of the meals u spend and stuff. 2 step, go and 2 step, get jiggy wit it, get jiggt wit, remix

  19. well if its a friend than like 200 a week would be good since she isnt licensed and in a daycare facility there is more than one person watching the children not mention all the activites they do there

  20. Id say about between $230 and $250 a week about $80 dollars a day thats about $10 an hour. If they're wild children, then id suggest maybe 12 dollars an hour or so =]

  21. If she is babysitting them in your home, and providing meals and snacks, the appropriate charge per child is $3.50/hour.  Charge $7.00/hour for two children, which equals: $245.00/week for both.  This is less than daycare, but that's okay because you want the parents to tell their friends about your wife.  Once she gets her license she can watch more children, and raise her fee.  This is especially reasonable for both parties in this situation.

  22. I would say €180!

  23. Umm....I say 150 a week is good or maybe 20$ and hour

  24. i work at a daycare part time, and the daycare provider i work for charges $2 an hour per kid for 40 hr a week kids, because she knows when they will be there, from 8 til 5. but when it's drop in daycare services and the parents are alloted 40 hrs per week to have their kids drop in at any time is more... but then again she has like... 20 kids, lol, so she can aford to charge cheaper... but it all depends on your location too.  if your charge cheaper rates and plan to expand and get more kids, people will love your rates and tell their friends about you and then you'll get more families to service...

  25. Considering that it will only be 3 days a week, I would say $200-$250 or so a week.  Make sure the parents of the children will be providing diapers for their kids though, if not, you could charge probably about another $25 a week.

  26. If your local daycare charges 150 per week, they're charging 30 per day, per child, your wife should come in under that, other wise it would make more sense to take her children to the daycare center.

Tell your wife to charge 20 per child per day, 120 per week..
