  1. it depends on the age of the child, what you're expected to do above babysitting and how many children there are to care for.  if you are only going to care for 1 child, not cook or clean just strictly care for the child, then your amount is fine.  if there are more kids to care for, you have to cook and clean up then i'd charge more.

when i was younger and babysitting i charged minimum wage.  and i got it.  but that included however many kids they had for me to care for, cook meals and clean up.  to me it was a business.

  2. We pay $6-8/hr for our babysitter to watch our 4 y/o twins.

  3. I think you are giving the right amount.

  4. i think that's reasonable...like the others, it matters how many you're watching and they're age...but that's what i would pay someone to sit w/ my 15month old

  5. Depends on how old the kid she is babysitting and how the kid behaves...but $5 sounds good.

  6. It depends on where you live too. I charged 4 dollars in Alabama, in a smalltown kind of place. Here, in Washington DC, I charge 8 dollars and I still get hired all the time, because tis about 3-8 bucks less than anyone else my age. 5 bucks is a good price if you are in a normal sized town, like not huge or tiny.
