Im thinking of taking up ironing for some income, im currently a single mum, and although my little boy is at school I cant get a job as I cant yet afford a car and we live in a really remote country village. I have monye for one, but because it's such a small amount no car has surfaced. I fancy doing ironing ... I know people will use this service, but how much do i charge???

  1. check  with  dry  cleaners  as  what  they  charge,,,

then  start  cutting  it  down  till  people  start  coming  to  you.

  2. minimum £5.75 an hour

  3. My next door neighbour has been in a similar position of needing some income so she started her ironing business (called it Pressing Concerns).

To find out how much to charge, she phoned some other local ironers!

Most of them seem to charge by the garment, much as Dry Cleaners do, so a dress rated more than a blouse for example.

She made price tick lists on her daughter's computer to make it look more professional and delivered the finished ironing on returnable hangers.

  4. With no car how will you pick up and deliver the ironing? That is the norm with home ironing services....anyway...I would pay 20 for a basket.
