  1. you can weigh any thing... but its helps to be under 8 stone

  2. i think at any weight as long as you learn !

    wheni started i wasnt thin!

but then it makes you get a good body

  3. im 96 pounds and i do ballet

  4. any weight you only have to be thin to go en pointe or to be pro

ballet will make you thin so it dosnt matter

  5. There's no specific weight.

  6. you don't have to be tremendously skinny to be in ballet. But first it depends on wether or not you are planning to do it professionaly. If you are, then you will probably be told at some point that you are not skinny enough, if you are a healthy weight, (as in not overweight) dont listen! people think that you have to be way skinny to do ballet and its not true! Theres a few girls in my calss that are bigger and they do just fine. Keep in mind though that at a professional level, you will need to mantain a healthy weight to succeed. But dont get your opinion of a healthy weight be your dance buddies, research it becuz there are to many unhealthaly skinny ballarianas out there.

  7. Don't listen to anyone who tries to tell you you're too fat for ballet. In almost every case it isn't true. You don't need to be a certain weight to study ballet. You may need to be thin (healthily) to be a proffessional in some strict companies. Being lighter might be an advantage for things like pas de deux and pointe but you won't be worrying about this if you're just starting. The only real downside to being heavy is that it could put more strain on your knees, ankles, etc.

Also, being a committed dancer will help you keep in shape in the first place!

In other words, there is no exact weight for a dancer, it varies from person to person. If you're starting ballet, you really shouldn't have a problem with weight.

    Hope that helps!

  8. I don't know but they're REALLY strict on weight there. I've heard stories of what girls have to do to stay thin. Of course, if you're extremely thin and "bendy" (per se) already then you're in great shape and don't have to worry. But we're talking like...movie star thin. Not average woman "size 4" thin.

  9. if you plan on doing ballet recreational for now then don't worry, they won't tell you that you can't dance because you dont hve the ideal body. No one's body is perfect. My friend who was a dancer started off being on the chubby side. But as the years progressed she became thin with all the dance, and now she dance professionally. As long as you enjoy it, and you are healthy then weight is something you really don't have to concentrate on! have fun!

  10. you do know that you can start ballet at any weight........

  11. it doesn't matter. trust me. just stay healthy!!!!

  12. any weight will do but preferably the normal weight, theres no discrimination in doing ballet
