  1. I teach nine year olds. Some go to bed as early as nine o'clock, some as late as two in the morning (the worst behaved one - funny that, eh?). Going by their moods and concentration, they perform much better when they are in bed before 10pm. So I would say at least 10 hours, maybe as much as 11 in some cases.

  2. all children need atleast 9 hrs of sleep depending on wat time they get up and wat time they go to bed but the regular is 9 hrs

  3. depends on the kid

    Usually about 10 hours

  4. I know the answer because I am a nine year old child so it must be 8 hours because I learned it in school.

  5. at least 8 to 10 hours

  6. About 10 hours I think. Depends on the child.

  7. Probably about 8 or 9 hours. I'd guess bedtime of 9pm.

  8. 8-10 HRS.

  9. I think 7 - 8 hours not more..... and early to bed..... i guess you can let him break the rules one in a while.

  10. All children need more sleep than they think and less sleep than you want them to!   They want to stay up til midnight, and you want them in bed by 6pm because you have had quite enough of them by then!

To be fair, it also depends upon the child.   My son could survive quite well on 8 hours a night for a week or so, then would sleep for 12.   However, this was only in the holidays.

I always (tried!) to get my son in bed by 8pm, and getting him up at 7am during term time.

People who say a 9 year old needs 8 hours per night do not seem to have realised that this means getting your child to bed at 11pm, which I feel is rather late!

  11. there are 24 hours in the day 8 hours sleep 8 hours play and 8 hours work i.e school and homework

  12. A nine year old child ? depends on the child's individual needs, lifestyle health etc children are not pets or plants they are singular human beings and will sleep for as long or as short as they need.
