How much soy beans do you need to press to make a gallon of oil ? thanks for all help !?

I run my 2006 diesel truck on pure veg. oil and need to find out how much soy bean i need to round up to press a gallion of oil . ??????? please help ????

  1. Crush a bushel of soybeans, and extract the oil with xylene, and you typically end up with about 11 or 12 pounds of oil.  You'll lose a little more when you purify the oil, but not much.

    Results will vary, depending on the variety of bean you're raising, the soil, and the weather during the growing season.
