  1. According to DEFRA, for a bird to be considered free-range, it must “… have had during at least half [it’s] lifetime continuous daytime access to open-air runs, comprising an area mainly covered by vegetation, of not less than:

    · 1m² per chicken


  2. typicalll all this means is that it isnt in a cage with wire under its feet.. as such it can still be in a very small cage.. just no wire on the bottom and MUST be on the ground...
