How much space is 2 GB in a camera?

I was just wondering how many minutes of tape I could record with 2 GB in a camera (not battery life). Is 8GB just 4x the time of the 2 GB or is it more/less?

8Gs is 4 times more space.

The recording time depends greatly on cameratype,  pixel qquantity, frames per second etc,

Some say 1Gb /hour is acceptable for simple home video.

When recording to memory the recorder changes the amount of memory /second depending on contrast light movement etc..

A slow moving video with small changes in color or light uses much less memory than an action filled strip.
