How much space is there underneath a UBC dorm room bed?

I am going to UBC and staying in Totem Park (more specifically Dene house) and was wondering if anybody knows how much room is under the bed. In the pictures it looks like they are raised off the floor quite a bit. Has anyone stayed there?? I was wondering if I should bring storage bins to put underneath them?

  1. You can raise the bed higher or lower, depending if you want to stuff boxes or a fridge and the drawer provided underneath. That's how I re-organized my room because if not, I found my room really crowed and small. Boxes, extra shoes (winter boots), drawer w/ printer on top went under the bed. As for storage bins, you could, but I found that the drawer + closet space was enough for me clothes for the 2 semesters.

  2. I have no idea how much space there is, but you can buy risers for the bed if you want to raise it higher, which would definitely allow you to put storage bins underneath if you wanted to.

  3. Just loft the bed, everyone does.
