How much space should i leave from the water to the top of my goldfish tank?

  1. you should only need about 1" from the lip of the tank to the surface of the water to prevent any spillage.

  3. That would depend on your filter and if you are running powerheads.

    Tanks can be filled to the bottom of the filter output.  i.e. a hang on filter.

    WIth goldfish, you can leave the water level just below the output of the filter.

    It is entirelly up to you.  No space is really needed it depends on your set up with lights, if any and filter.

  4. usual 1 to 2 inches depend of the overhead filter and if you got airstones water goes up due to water burst to the glass lid of the tank.
