How much spending money do I need for a Backpacking trip in europe?

For the whole month of September I am heading for Amsterdam, Paris, San Sabastian, and Barcelona. Belive me I am really on a low budget and I dont even know how I am willing to go with little money How much exactly do I need to make it worth it. All I am trying to do there is sight seeing and meeting new people.

I spent 2200 dollars U.S. during my two week 3 country trip.I bought train passes before I left so i did not have that expense.The countries were Holland,Belgium and Luxembourg.I spent alot in Amsterdam on hotels(hostels were full)and hash.

if you are getting hotels (bad hotels) and spending the night at maybe twice a week id say 1200$ if you don't eat out (food) and don't tag on too many souveniers, and that would include all your cheap backpacking/camping gear

if you were spending every night, then close to 5 grand i'd imagine

if you camp out EVERY night, and buy cheap meals and no souveneirs then you can get away with just camping goods and minimal food for 400-600$,

***ticket not included, neither is entrance fees for museums/other places that cost money to see

A minimum of $75 per day in those cities.  $100 per day to be comfortable.  If $75 per day is too much, you might consider Eastern Europe, which is much cheaper.
