How much spending money for a family of 4? (Cyprus)?

We're off to ayia napa next week. We're going to adams beach hotel on a b&b basis. We only have £800 to take (roughly 950euros).

I'm panicking this isn't anywhere near enough money.

Will we be ok do you think. Two of us four are 3 and 4 years old so no clubbing involved.

I'm really stressing. I keep hearing it's expensive. This is why I'm convinced this isn't going to get us far.

It really depends what you want to do.   If you eat at medium-range restaurants, you should be able to get  two adult main meals, including drinks, for about 20-30 euros, and less for child-sized portions.   If your other meal is a sandwich or similar, or even McDonalds, you wouldn't pay more than about 20 euros for the four of you.  

Most restaurants have menus outside with price lists, and service charges are included, so you can see what the costs are up front.  

For other drinks during the daytime, the best place to go is a supermarket - you could also buy bread, cheese, fruit etc there for sandwiches for one meal a day, and that wouldn't cost much.  You can get ice creams for 1-2 euros each, either from local shops or salesmen who trawl the beaches.

If your children are happy playing on the beach, and you want to swim or read, then all you'll have to do is rent a beach umbrella and a couple of loungers to keep out of the sun - that's about 3 or 4 euros a day.   Again it's worth checking, as some people charge more than others.

If you want to buy a lot of souvenirs, you could easily spend a lot of money, of course, but Cyprus isn't particularly expensive compared to the rest of Europe.

If the adults eat 2 meals each day, and you buy food for the 3 and 4 year old at the grocery store, you should be fine.  Do some research on-line before you head out, so you know what available.  Sand, water, a bucket and a shovel and your little ones will be happy.  You take some books along and read by the sea - relaxing for everyone.  Don't forget to take sunscreen!!
