How much spending money should i take for 10 days in St Lucia..?

We are staying in a villa at the north of the island, and are a young couple n our 20's, so interested in evenings out and maybe a couple of excursions - however, also interested in relaxing A LOT!!

Any other hints and tips would be so so appreciated...

Take whatever you feel comfortable with.  Never pay full price for anything.  Just say it is too much and negotiate a lower price.  It is very common there.  I spent 4 months in Castries thru the military.

couple of grand in travelers checks,  min cash....

If you plan to do lots of shopping take at least 5,000.00US, if not just enjoy the food and other things at least 2,000.00 US. Thing are not cheap, but can batter and find deals.

I would take quite a bit of US money. That's one of the more expensive islands. But you don't have to bring all cash. Most places accept major credit cards and some will accept debit too. But its just better to have more just in case. Have fun!
