I'm going on a self catering trip next week, ski hire and passes are included but I'm trying to figure out how much I'll need for groceries and restaurant meals.

  1. i brought a thousand with me and came home with €400 if your not buying presents for lots of people 500 should do it evennwith spending €600 we had a few drinks most nights.

  2. About £50-75.00 for groceries (more if you're buying lots of booze) The restaurants aren't that expensive in comparison to some French ski resorts. I went to Kitzbuhel a couple of years ago and found the living costs to be much the same as in the UK so if you're planning a blow out and want to have lots of fun then budget for £50.00 a day...this'll be enough for you to have a pretty good time but take your credit card just in case.

The wiener schnitzel is a must....lovely!!

    Enjoy yourself!

  3. Hi,

I would say 15 EUR per day for the groceries and 15 to 40 EUR for dinning out (depending on the type). In most grocery stores (SPAR, MPREIS, BILLA) you can personalize your sandwiches and they are very affordable. It is a good way to save money. If you do not want to spend much for lunch, there is a Chinese restaurant in St Johann that offers a lunch buffet for 5.80 EUR (LANGE MAUER). Another nice restaurant with lunch buffet is the VILLA MASIANCO, 6.20 EUR. In fact, it also offers a la carte with a great variety of international cuisine.

Have a nice stay in St Johann! Viel Spass!

  4. a buck or 2
