How much stuff can I fit into a 10' moving truck?

I have a king size bed set, 3 tall shelves (1 wooden, 2 wicker), a glass movie cabinet, a computer desk, 2 dressers, one of those turtle shaped sand-pits, a child size writing desk, and a microwave cabinet. (plus odds and ends boxes---about 3) Does anyone have any moving experiance and can tell me whether or not this all will fit? I don't know if I should go with the 10' or 16' truck...

  1. If you had experience it would be easy to move in a 10' but if you don't have any experience you should go with the 16' truck

  2. I have been loading and unloading furniture for the past 6 years and I am sure my coworkers and I could make the 10' work. However, since you are not as familiar with packing I would suggest going with the 16'. I am sure the price difference is not much and if you do not know what you are doing it is easy to damage your furniture and belongings.

Another reason for going with the 16' is that you are going to have more things to load than you think. I moved a few months ago and had a lot more c**p to move than I thought.

Good luck. Hope you have plenty of help.
