  1. I found this quote from a 2005 document:

"There are more than 1,198 IHOP restaurants in 48 states and Canada. IHOP serves more than 700 million pancakes per year with 2.5 million gallons of syrup to top them off."

According to the IHOP website, "as of December 31, 2007 there were 1,344 IHOP restaurants in 49 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada and Mexico."

The number of stores has increased by 12.2% since that 2005 statement, so assuming the syrup has also increased by 12.2%, IHOP now uses about 2.8 million gallons of syrup.

2.8 million gallons is 374,306 cubic feet

    A football field is 360 feet  x  160 feet.

    374306 cubic feet / (360 ft * 160 ft) = 6.5 feet

So, IHOP's annual syrup usage would fit in a pan that is 6.5 feet tall and covers the area of an entire football field.
