  1. So I take it you are moving to Canada permanently then to become a resident here? If this is the case, then you will be paying GST and possibly PST (depending on what provincial border you enter at) at the border on the fair market value of all assets you are bringing across the border from the USA including your car (GST only at that time). When you register your car in Canada at an insurance agent you will then need to pay the PST (provincial sales tax, it varies from province to province) on your vehicle only.

If you are just coming to Canada to visit only and don't want to reside here, then you don't pay anything in consumption taxes on your personal belongings.

  2. You have to pay about a lot thats what my dads says! I am 10 but my dad told me you have to pay a lot!!Good luck!

  3. I'm not entirely sure but you should check with Canada Customs.  http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html

I would assume if you own the car and you are relocating to Canada you would not have to pay taxes (but you would have to get it approved to match Canadian regulations).  The problem would arise if you are a Canadian resident that has lived in the US for a short time and you bought a new car in the US.  Then unless you can prove that you planned on staying  in the US (meaning you cut all ties to Canada, no bank account, no significant other that you left behind; because these actions could make you a deemed resident) you will be paying taxes.  This would involve GST and PST if applicable.  The main item to consider is when did you buy the car (if it is brand new) and are you originally a Canadian citizen.

But to be 100% sure I would highly recommend contacting Canada Customs at the above link and asking them.  That way you will know for certain.
