i had a month long track season last year for 8th grade and got 68 66 and 65 as my times, this year I'm going to be a freshmen and ive been running cross country for almost 2 months now, even after cross country is over I'm going to be running in the winter to build more endurance and maybe do swimming to. when i got that record i could all out sprint 100-150m and be worn out. I'm still just as fast if not faster and i can sprint about 200m before having to stop, maybe 250-300 when i have a reason to push. how much time do you think i can take off my 8th grade time of 65 by track season (end of school year that hasn't even started yet)?

  1. a 65sec 400 in 8th grade is pretty good since they dont really push you that hard in middle school, but since your doing cross coutnry now, and then running over the winter, your probably going to hit anywere between 56-58 second for your 400?

Its just a guess hahah i ran a 58 my freshman year

Then on my sophomore year i ran a 55

So you probably can take off at least 7 second of your time now. :D or ever more strive for the best xD and dont forget to use Spike's, they'll lower your time by at least 2 second or more.

  2. Thats actually not a bad time for a freshman, are you a girl or guy?

But My time my freshman year in the 400 was like 63 and each season it went down maybe a second and a half. I ended running a 57sec 400...so I would say you can run maybe a 64.5 depending on how hard you work.

  3. Thats pretty good. I wouldn't be worried at all about your time but there is always room for improvement. I don't know if you know a lot of runners and if quotes are your thing but this is probably my favorite running quote of all time by the first man to break a 4 minute mile: "It is a paradox to say the human body has no 'limit.'  There must be a limit to the speed at which men can run. I feel this may be around 3:30 for the mile.  However, another paradox remains - if an athlete manages to run 3:30, another runner could be found to marginally improve on that time."
