I need to undergo a laparoscopic repair of Inguinal hernia and I was wondering how long the recovery period would be.Can I go on a holiday during that time and when is the proper moment to go back in the gym?(I don't do very intensive work-outs or exercises for the tummy area)

  1. I had laparotomy.      Was about 2 months for me/   holiday is OK  but take it easy,  no exertion  ,  just a lazy time..It is a gradual process .   I couldnt drive car for a month.

  2. You should be fine in a few days. Simply because the surgery isn't anywhere near as 'open' as it was. Then we would be talking about a month.

However, because your procedure was minimally invasive, I think a week would provide ample time to recover.

Even going back to the gym after about a week. Although, you'll probably feel a bit uncomfortable a couple of hours after surgery, but after 2-3 days, you'll feel normal, but if you wait a couple more days, your body should completely heal (bar the incisions, they'll go after a few months and be barely visible).
