  1. you wont get ripped by swimming alone. all those swimmers that you see that are ripped put extra work into their bodies. i alone swim 3 hours a day on practice. im very toned but not a hunk. if you want to loose pounds, u should join a swim team and have INTENSE work outs. you should also do some dryland exercises such as: pushups, crunches, plank.

    also, try not to eat as much. i suggest you swim about... 200 laps per day. remember, these 200 laps are NOT easy laps. they are mainly sprints which i do with my swimteam. there are some overweight people on my team and they obviously do not loose any weight so i suggesdt you work hard.... good luck


  2. yes, you can get ripped just on swimming alone. i would try an hour a day +. just make sure u work hard and eat a lot of protein. if you just want to loose weight. use running and swimming as a combination. it should take about 2-4 weeks to see results. you should really focus on running to loose wight and swimming to build muscle.
