How much time do train engineers usually spend operating a train in one day?

Our average time on duty is around 9 1/2 to 10 hours, of tht tome, I am proably actually operating the train at least 8 of that.

I'm sure it varies a lot, this is just for the location I work out of.

12 hours is all we can work by law.Then we need 10 hours off before we can work again.

10-12 hours that's a  long time to be working especially on a hot summer day
