Hi, I have already found information about the paper production process, but I can't seem to find anything regarding how much time it actually takes for the whole process to be completed. By "how much time", I refer to when the logs arrive at the mill and the various processes take place, and not from the time the tree grows from a sapling.

  1. a good amount of time..

  2. 24 hrs for 6 billion sheets

  3. Logs are first turned into pulp.  This pulp is formed like very thick squares of paper stacked in bales.

The bales are shipped to different paper mills where this pulp is blended with other materials then this is mixed up in a giant blender then sent to the paper machine.

The paper machine can run over 100ft/min so the time it takes to make the paper is just minutes.

  4. The pulping process takes between 1.5 and 4 hours.  I'm having difficulty finding anymore information then that.  Since most of these manufacturers talk about how much paper they produce per day, I think we can assume that the process takes 8 - 12 hours from beginning to end.
