I am an American citizen flying to Forli Airport from London. How much time does it take to get through immigration/custom's? Our flight arrives at 10:10PM and I have to pick up my car before 11:00. Will this be possible?

  1. It's a bit tight unless you don't have to wait for checked in luggage.

  2. Forli is a very small airport. You probably will just walk through customs with no questions. As long as your flight is on time, there should be no problem picking up your car.

  3. Flights arriving from other countries that adhere to the Schengen treaty (most of the EU) do not go through customs in Italy. So, since you are arriving from Great Britain you will not go through customs in Italy.

As others have said, Forli is a small airport so you won't have as many problems as you would at a large airport like in Rome or Milan. You might have to wait a bit for your luggage but this is usually a short wait.

My question though is why do you have to pick up you rental car before 11 a.m.? Generally if you provide your flight info to the rental company they will hold the car for you even if your flight is late. I know they ask for pick up times when you book a car but that is not a deadline -- it's just to give them an idea of when their customers are going to be arriving throughout the day so that they can be prepared.

  4. go through immigration is fast, getting your laggage  can take time (in rome for ex. you can wait 40 minutes.....)
