We are thinking about getting a new saltwater pool, but I've heard you have to wait a little while before you're allowed to swim in it. Our neighbor says a month, but our friend says about a week. And our friend has the larger pool. Does anyone know how long you have to wait before you can swim in a NEW saltwater pool?

  1. Negative.  You can swim in it as soon as you fill it with water.  However, you do have to wait a few weeks to put the salt in while the plaster or pebble finish cures.  You can swim in it during that time.  When you put the salt in, you can swim in it immediately too.

  2. Why are they waiting?

When you start up a newly built

    pool on salt...

you wait before you convert it to salt.

If you have had your pool for a while & just want to

    convert to salt...

put in the salt & jump in!

  3. i would say about between 10 to 20 weeks

  4. huh?????????????????????????????????????...
