How much time is acceptable to miss from work following a miscarriage?

I took 3 days off and had 2 other scheduled days off. I thought it was enough, but going back today was tough. It doesn't help that I work in a doctor's office. (yes, we are open on Sundays)

  1. Personally, I think you take as much time as you need and to h**l with work.

A miscarriage at 4 weeks is very different physically from a miscarriage at 23 weeks.  And how long it takes you to get over this mentally and physically varies from women to women.

  2. I would say a week should be enuf I went back right away (denial)

  3. as long as you need honey, i always went right back, even after a d&c but that was just the whole "i am strong thing and i can take it" Allow yourself to grieve, it would also depend on how far along you were, for physical issues. Hope you feel better, GOD BLESS!!

  4. I agree a week should be good.

  5. I think it depends on the individual case.

  6. First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I would say take off as much time as you can afford too. There is no set time on 'getting over it'. Keep in mind that those who have not been through this may take it lightly and have little understanding  of what you are going through. You have to do what is best for your own health.
