Question:

How much time it takes for the cervix to dilate from 2-10cm in full term.will the contactions occur at 2 cm.?

I am due on 24 august,I am dilated to 2cm ,but i am not getting contractions,but a lot of pressure and pain in the lower abdomen..This is my first pregnancy.please help me.

  1. Sorry, but there is no way to tell how much time exactly. Every one is different. My cervix was dialated 1 cm for 12 hours! But other women I've known had their babies in a matter of 1 or 2 hours. It's different for everyone. Just get a wonderful epidural and you'll be fine. I didn't even FEEL the baby come out-at all.


  2. There is no way to tell really how long it will take for a woman to dialate. I've had 3 kids and all of them went at different rates. The pressure your feeling is meaning the baby has dropped.. Contractions can occour anytime.. wheather your dialated or not. but trust me once those contractions hit you will know it!! lots and lots of luck to you and your baby!!
