How much tips should I give to the washer delivery guy?

I just bought a washer, it will be delivered today. How much tips should I give to the delivery guy? I am thinking about $5. is that good?

First of all, the salesperson who said "you have to give him a tip" is blatantly wrong.  Is it in the contract? probably not.

I over tip constantly, probably because I spent a lot of my younger years waitressing, my kids in college worked in restaurants and bars..so tipping has been our sole source of survival at times...

BUT...I would say as washer delivery guy does not usually give tips..maybe if he had to go up and down some stairs or flights....but he is most likely working for a flat rate, and not for tips. (whereas in a restaurant...they pay servers below minimum wage because they get tips..i'm sure this guy gets at least minimum wage..)....and if he was a nice guy, it looked like his company treated him like dirt, I'd probably give him a tip...five bucks is fine..

HOWEVER..if this guy is installing it you can bet that he's getting a decent dollar for that...so..you know, unless he went out of his way..I probably wouldn't tip him..(geez my plumber charges like $200 for this one job that takes 1/2 hour...and I certainly wouldn't be giving him a tip!)

Installation is different than just moving...

But, by the time this is posted..he'll be long gone..ah well...it never hurts to put a smile on somebody's face...

well i would say 10 bucks.. 5 dollars isnt anything anymore... 10 dollars would be nice of you.

$0. aren't you paying a delivery fee? plus, he's probably getting paid to do that.

I think $5 is sufficient.  He does get an hourly rate from the company already, plus hes not doing all that much work.
