  1. it depends on where you live, how old you are, experience.

I'm from CT ($$$), I have lots of experience ( over 20 yrs.) and I'm old...er. So I would get in or around $15.00 p/h.

A teenager, first job, same job (as mine above) probably the most $8-9p/h.

  2. I would say if its not a good friend or family member to charge about $20 to $25 per week. This may be a bit higher than hourly rates, BUT......it is just enough to interrupt your day and put you on a time limit, they will need a snack and entertainment for 6 hours total. If you are going to give your time, and its not full time but enough to be disruptive to other things that come along and those days in general, you should charge enough to make it worth your while and slight cost for snack and still fairly feesable to the parent.

Decide what is worth it for you to do this, then ask the parent whats fair to them. If its more than your price your set. If its less then try to work out a medium or don't take the job. I found the few hour 2 day a week jobs to be more hassle many times than worth in pay just for the matter of working around it weekly and it falling right in the middle of the day for a short length of time.

  3. well do it like 25-30$ a day that you do the child care.

so that means you would get about 50-60$ a week from just one person if they have one child.

so 25-30$ a day per child

    yup that sounds about right!
