I am a supply teacher and I'm thinking about watching a little boy this summer. His dad works 12 hr shifts (2days 2 nights) he wants to know what i charge... any ideas?

Some days it'll be longer than 12 hours because after his night shifts he'll sleep. I don't think it should be by the hour.

  1. I would say $250 a week.  That is the average price for a week of camp.  It also depends on the child's age, if he is 3 or younger I would say a little more, +$50 to $100.  Good luck!

  2. It depends on what area you live in.

California is more expensive then say Tennessee.

You can always call daycares/sitters in your area ( some are probably in the newspaper) and pretend to need a sitter for that situation and see what the going rate is for a child that age. Then you can set a fair price without being ripped of or overcharging by being clueless.

  3. i will go by hours and charge 7  by every hour

  4. I would say 6$ an hour.

  5. I would say that $6 an hour is reasonable.

  6. 50 is resonable

  7. I would go by hour. I would say 7 to 10, if the boy is potty trained.

  8. Well im 15 and i charge basically $8 an hour per kid per hour. I have a lot of expierence and training. If you want a babysitter you can pay whatever you feel they should get. If he/she doesnt like it, they will quit. Also ask the person ahead of time what they charge b/c you might end up with a really good deal. :]
