How much to go down south at xmas time?

I know it's a long way ahead, but how much (approximately) does it cost for two people to go away down south (Cuba, Domincan, where ever!) to a four-star (+) resort if you book last minute?

Just looking for an idea of price :)

I do not have exact prices, as they vary from day to day.

One thing to keep in mind, is, if you book in advance, you are going to save money.

Airlines make their money, from people who book last minute.  I paid $425 round trip from Cleveland to London in March.  Just for the heck of it, I checked to see how much it would be, to book the week I was leaving, and it was almost $1000 more!

kayak.com is one of my favorite travel sites to use.  They list ALL the carriers out there, plus all the travel sites, such as Orbitz or Expedia.  They also have great research tools, to make a more informed purchase.  They will graph out which days are cheaper to travel on, and also, allow you to sign up for "deal alerts"

The closer the departure, usually, the cheaper the cost. It could range from hundreds of dollars to thousands. With fuel prices being what they are, many carriers are reducing the number of flights and adding fuel surcharges. Have a good travel agent monitor this for you locally.
