How much to live in india for four months?? Cost of food, lodging, clothing, Anyone??

Question

I am going to be living in India, Bombay, from November to February. I am going there to experience the culture life so i was wondering what the best way to do that is?? and how much money would I need to save?? I figure I dont want to end up running out of money while i'm there b/c i dont want to end up working over there. I'd like to know how expensive food and clothing and lodging is please? I can get a straight answer from any website i go to or they dont make sense to me.
